We're excited to share with you one of our long running vehicle modification projects - a 2003 Chevy Silverado extended cab pre-runner modification. Between our busy schedule of custom fabrication projects for our clients, we return to our pride and joy, the work that fuels our fire, passion, and creativity for custom fabrication: off-road racing. This project was a thrilling journey of transformation, turning a standard vehicle into a high-performance beast.
To kick off this modification, we began with the installation of a billet aluminum center mount bulkhead. This was created using our favorite Waterjet cutting machine, the OMAX 55000 (shhh, don’t tell our other machines) and our CNC machine, the VF-4 Haas. Our equipment ensures precise cuts and a perfect fit for nearly any project. Following this, we installed billet upper J arms and lower front A-arms, again crafted with our Waterjet and CNC machines for unmatched precision.
Next up, we added 3.0 coil over bypass shocks for superior handling and performance. We also installed a race cage using our CNC Tube notcher and CNC Tube bender, reinforcing the vehicle's structure to withstand even the most challenging terrains.
The rear suspension received a 5th link billet upgrade, providing the Silverado with an impressive 29" of usable travel and superb fuel balance resolution as well as the perfect way to maintain truck bed storage. This was paired with a sturdy 70" rear billet trailing arms and a robust Ford 9” rear-end. We also added an aluminum center section with chromoly tubes and a trust rear-end for enhanced durability.
Our team also installed Camburg 2.5 race hubs, Willwood race brakes, and a race bed cage that allows for a 4' x 6.5' usable bed. The Silverado was then outfitted with Walker Evans beadlocks and 40" BFG Baja tires, perfect for tackling any off-road adventure.
With our refusal to sacrifice the vehicle's storage capabilities, we also enhanced them with an Overland tailgate tire carrier, bed rack, and roof rack. These modifications not only add to the rugged look of the Silverado but also provide practical storage solutions for long journeys.
Under the hood, we installed a 6.6L LS Stroker motor, built by Wiks Racing Engines, one of the best racing engine
